A Tribute to the King
Summer 2002
Back in the January of this year -- I got it into my head to take a Great American Adventure from Philadelphia down the East Coast towards Elvis Presley’s Graceland Mansion. The trip was intended as a shared experience with a bunch of my friends, as well as to commemorate Elvis’ life and Rock ‘N Roll. So the stage was set for our adventure aboard a heavily armed Winnebago. You might ask us, WHY? Well, why not!
We four – we band of brothers - are all are baby boomers coming of age, ripe age that is! So, come take a ride with us on our Great Old American Road Trip.
Trip dates: Friday, August 9th to Sunday , August 18th, 2002.

Philadelphia Area to Antietam Battlefield, MD
From Antietam through Waynesboro, Lynchburg and Roanoke, VA on Skyline/ Blue Ridge Parkway
Continue on Blue Ridge Parkway through Asheville, NC
From Asheville through Great Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN to Chattanooga, TN
From Chattanooga to Nashville, TN
From Nashville, TN to Tupelo and Cornith, MS
From Cornith, MS to Memphis
Memphis to Knoxville, TN
Knoxville, TN to Bethesda, MD
Bethesda to Philadelphia
